Emerson Victoria Johnston

Emerson Johnston

CSSH '23

Emerson is a second-year Philosophy, Politics, and Economics major with a minor in Criminal Justice and a concentration in Logic and Game Theory. Outside of being the co-president and co-founder of the IWC, she is an MSIII ROTC Cadet, a wannabe FBI agent, and an avid human rights activist. In her free time, Emerson can be found obsessing over graduate school programs.

Stephanie Luiz

Steph is a second-year Political Science and Economics major with minors in Arabic, Mathematics, and International Affairs with a concentration in the Middle East. She is the co-president and co-founder of the IWC. In her free time, Steph can be found drinking an obscene amount of coffee, writing for the Northeastern Political Review, and complaining about government spending.

Camila Blikstad

DMSB '23

Camila is a second-year Economics and Business Administration major with a minor in Law and Public Policy and a concentration in Finance. She is the Vice President of Finance and Chair of Women in Business for the IWC. In her free time, Camila enjoys reading, studying languages, re-watching shows, and obsessing over Harry Potter and Star Trek.

Lilyana Ibanez

Lilyana is a second year International Affairs major minoring in Spanish and Global Health on a Pre-Med track. From Austin, Texas, she is the daughter of medical professionals and is interested in pursuing a career in public health and medicine. In her free time, Lilyana enjoys following politics, mentoring young girls, and promoting mental health resources.

Beza is a fourth-year Political Science major with a minor in Computational Social Sciences. She is extremely excited to serve as the VP of Communications and meet strong-willed, like-minded women. When she’s not editing pieces for NUPR or stressing about school, Beza can be found singing random songs, binge-watching tv shows, and listening to The Weeknd on repeat.

Jess Silverman

CSSH '23

Jess is a second-year Political Science major with a minor in Journalism. She is beyond excited to join the team as the IWC's Vice President of Public Affairs. Outside of IWC, she works as deputy campus editor for The Huntington News and is a member of Sigma Kappa on campus. In her free time, you can find Jess making overly specific Spotify playlists and listening to true crime podcasts. 

Katya Amar

Katya Awar

CAMD '22

Katya is a third-year Media and Screen Studies major minoring in both English and Musical Theatre. She is an aspiring screenwriter, the President of Her Campus Northeastern, a member of the Sigma Kappa sorority, and performs in the NuStage musical theatre group. Her advocacy for equal rights, women’s rights, and diversity translates through all of these platforms.

Alicia Prainito

Alicia is a first-year Cultural Anthropology and Criminal Justice major with a minor in ASL. Outside of the IWC, she is interested in law and forensic anthropology. In her free time, you can find her working out at the track or talking about her vegetarianism to anyone who will listen.

Sarah Davitian-Reiner

CSSH '22

Sarah is a third year Political Science and International Affairs major with minors in Psychology and Political Communication. She is an active member of NU Stage Musical Theatre Company and the Sunrise Northeastern hub! She is super excited to be a part of the leadership team and looks forward to curating and creating content for the IWC social media accounts.

Katherine Bond

COE '23

Katy Bond is a second-year Cellular and Molecular Biology major with minors in Global Health and Psychology. She is a member of the Chi Omega chapter at Northeastern and a part of it's Scholarship team Katy can often be spotted scavenging for thrift finds, narrowing down the best boba spot in Boston, and geeking out over the complexities of the human immune system.

Charlotte is a first-year International Business major. She is super excited to be joining the team as the Director of Freshman Engagement. Outside the IWC, she hopes to become involved in activism, women empowerment, and business oriented clubs at Northeastern. In her free time, Charlotte can be found planning her next travel adventures.

Alexa is a second year International Affairs major with minors in Spanish and International Security Studies. Originally from Vienna, Virginia, Alexa has spent most of her life overseas. She credits this as inspiring her desire to hear every voice, regardless of background. Alexa enjoys reading about how to undo diet culture, fat-shaming and how to truly love your body.

Kate is a second-year Philosophy, Politics, and Economics major with a minor in Health Science. From Chelmsford, MA, she is interested in pursuing a career in health policy with her dream job being a policy position at Planned Parent Hood. In her free time, Kate enjoys following American politics, painting, and spending time with her friends at Northeastern. 

Lauren Verge

COE '24

Lauren is a second-year Industrial Engineering Major. She is very excited to be involved in IWC in her freshman year. Outside of IWC, Lauren is a member of the Society of Women Engineers and Smart Woman Securities. In her free time, you’ll probably find Lauren playing broomball with her friends in Matthews Arena or binge-watching New Girl (for the fourth time) in her dorm. 

Katharine Dixon

COE '22

Katharine is a third-year Chemical Engineering major with a minor in Materials Science. In her free time, she loves to  read. In addition to being passionate about sustainability, Katharine is an adventurer, dog owner, and amateur chef.

Lorena Leza

CSSH '22

Lorena is a fourth-year political science major and the chair of the Women in Law and Politics committee. She is the President of IGNITE at Northeastern, a chapter of the nonpartisan, nonprofit organization dedicated to building political power in young women. She is also active on campus with democratic engagement efforts along with faculty, staff, and other students.

Ivy Saltsman is a third-year combined Media and Screen Studies and Journalism major with a minor in Theatre.

Aside from the IWC, Ivy is a contributor and editor for HerCampus Northeastern and a member of NU Stage Musical Theater Company. As the WoA Chair, she looks forward to working with the IWC and making a positive impact in the greater Northeastern community!

COS '23

Nicole Page is a second year biochemistry student with minors in Spanish and English. She is also on the pre-med track, and she plans to attend medical school after graduating from Northeastern. She also works in Northeastern’s Music, Imaging, and Neural Dynamics lab and is part of the E-Boards for Innovators for Global Health, Wind Ensemble, and Orchestra.

Leyla Singh

Leyla is a second-year Civil Engineering major with hopes to pursue a career in Renewable Energy. Outside of being the Chair of the College of Engineering in IWC, she is passionate about sustainability, the arts, and nature. Leyla’s interests include reading, basketball, and tennis. 

Vanessa Lee

Khoury '23

Vanessa is a second-year Data Science major with a minor in Mathematics. In the fall of 2020, she will be the Chair of the Women in Khoury Committee. A day in a life for Vanessa would consist of starting the morning with a soy matcha latte, planning content for her podcast with her friend, and spending the night watching Avatar: The Last Airbender.

Krystal Qiao

COS/Bouvé '24

Krystal is a first year 

Behavioral Neuroscience major on the pre-med track. She will be joining the IWC as our Women of Bouvé Committee Chair. Other than advocating for women’s voices in STEM, she plans to get involved in graphic design and the American Cancer Society. Krystal can be found playing violin, bullet journaling, or painting in her free time. 

Stella Ikpatt

Stella Ikpatt is a fourth year Economics major with a minor in Data Science. She is excited to chair the IWC’s Women of Color Advocacy Committee. She is motivated by inclusive, frictionless design and seeing where innovation can intersect with pursuits for equity. Outside of IWC, she enjoys digital illustration, astrology, and existential discourse.
